En repuesta a la accion del gobierno, que usó la policía federal y el ejercito a remover los trabajadores de "Luz y Fuerza del Centro" de su trabajo, y por liquidando la empresa nacional, el sindicato de los trabajadores - Sindicato Mexicano de Electricistas (SME) - llamó por una marcha-mega a mostrar su fuerza y a mostrar su enojo.
